John Clarke & The Honey Monster ,..
remember that advert they seemed to bring out the best in one anotther's artistic talents , although , if Im honest . and its very rare that I am, I think ''T-H-M'' stole the show ...
rumour has it that the advert I mentioned was the main reason Frank Sidebottom gave JCC a part in his tour... , Honey Monster & Frank Sidebottom, what a pair of 1980s vintage Sugar Puffs - Oh Matron !!
hahaha! @LeArvin that right made me chuckle
i just saw him for the third time (gawd hello stalker) this summer and he was wicked. managed three poems in a 45 minute set, dropped all his papers about 4 times and left the stage with a crew member chasing after him waving his satsuma at him that he'd left on stage by mistake. brilliant.
interesting support on the tour, i can't rememeber the first guys name, but he was a really genuinue good musician with some good songs. the second guy darren poyzer, was interesting, i really wasn't too sure how to take him, his singing and playing was pretty good, and his Love will tear us apart cover was extremely refreshing and enjoyable compared to some downbeat version you hear that just don't carry any of the emotion from the original.
his own songs all just seemed a little weak lyrically, mixed with his cloths and personality it was difficult to know how serious he was meant to be, no complaints though. JCC was obviously the jewel in the crown though.
