Ooh, and there's that little smidgeon of bassline from the chorus of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door". Works both ways y'know...

Like traps, like traps for us, the rats. And there's nothing more to catch.

Love the Cale stuff on Island, something about Chris Spedding's guitar-playing goes really well. Love the earlier stuff (Vintage Violence and especially Paris 1919) too, and some of the later stuff too. Always preferred John to Lou post-Velvets

There are bits in "The world is full of crashing bores" by the M-man that sound similar. Also, I think the opening sounds a bit like "Grin" by The Gerbils.

He tells it like it is, always. With great melodies. Melancholy. Trodding. Atmospheric. Fear is a great album.
