I wonder if Belle & Sebastian liked this song

It's been a while since lyrics have bothered me in a "what does it mean" sense: But this song... There's a law for everything. And for Elephants that sing to keep the cows that agriculture won't allow. Is this some sort of reference to Hinduism? Hindu sacred cows? I don't know if Ganesha was known to sing... I don't know, the mention of religion at Mr. Cale's door, but Hindus aren't the type to knock on your door, at least here in the States. I don't know... and then what's with the chorus?! I'm pretty obssessed with this album, front to cover perfect.

The chorus only seems ridiculous because life itself is ridiculous

Is this one of the most beautiful songs ever? I think so, I have loved the whole album for ever. The production on the tambourine is worth the price of admission on its own
