Biography

Founding band member Joe Sepi is a NY boy who came to Chicago from the indie-rock mecca, Olympia, Wa by way of Bennington, VT. Joe has been playing in bands in Chicago for close to ten years. But between his time as a New Yorker and now, he has travelled the country performing - including a 4 year stint in Boise, ID, where he lived with members of Built to Spill. Joe was lucky to find a bunch of talented musicians to work with putting this band together all with experience in the midwest music scenes and beyond; including Nate Striedinger (drums), AJ Sears (keyboards), Mike Janas (bass) and Bill Sprowle (guitar). Together, they have proven to be a tight knit in a sweet sweater. The end product sounds something like the heartfelt vocals of Neil Young over diverse song-writing influences ranging from newer indie-rock favs like Pavement or The Flaming Lips to classic bands such as The Kinks and The Ramones.

In addition to his participation in several chicago bands, *joesepi* has been recording his own music and playing solo acoustic shows. This is the first band to bear the *joesepi* namesake, performing material that he has been developing for years and featuring new songs written both independently and in collaboration with good friends such as the late Michael Dahlquist (Silkworm), Dean Bernadini (Chevelle) and Dan Smith (Salvo Beta). A recording is in the works and is nearing completion with a couple local labels expressing interest in its release.
