"Death Metal for pussies" yeah because your taste in music determines your physical strength! Maybe I should listen to another band instead, then I'll be proper TUFF and STRAWNG

"I remember back when Johnny wore tight blue jeans, a white belt, and asked his band mates how his hair looked way back at a Havasu show they played. They were trendy then playing to AILD fans," And what kinda moronic rant is this? What's wrong with tight jean and white belts? Or asking how you look? Does having long black hair, cut off sleeves, and not caring how you look instantly give you more metal credibility? Is purposely being not trendy any less of a gimmick than being trendy? I sure don't see how.

"Death Metal for pussies." This doesn't imply whether it's bad or not though. Is death metal for tough guys automatically more valid? What's wrong with being a pussy? I'm confused about this comment.

I like the death metal stuff quite a bit, but Doom's a classic. [2] Doom goes hard, so does the demo.

I remember back when Johnny wore tight blue jeans, a white belt, and asked his band mates how his hair looked way back at a Havasu show they played. They were trendy then playing to AILD fans, and back when Doom came out they rode that pony until the IMN metal guys teased the shit out of them. Now they're generic dm horseshit

Entombment of a Machine top track... to me it kinda says it all about their boring-as-fuck post-Doom "we're a real death metal band" stuff. I mean weren't there enough brutal death bands without them? AArrgh I'm just pissed off they didn't keep on playing the way they started.

This is the most influential Deathcore band because the Doom EP is what influenced the hordes of bands that came after them(Carnifex, Whitechapel, I Declare War). All of those three bands(which are some of the biggest Deathcore bands ever) directly copied that sound, and even the aesthetic of that band at the time, moreso than Deathcore bands that already had albums out prior to the release of Doom such as Animosity, The Red Chord and Despised Icon.

Demonocracy is their best by far. Having Cephalic Carnage's bass player in their lineup sure helped a lot.

  • bobo9390

v like I said in an earlier shout, Doom was a monumental deathcore release. One of the albums that exposed a mainstream audience to the genre. It will probably always be their most popular album, though the death metal stuff is great too.

  • Registeel

The Doom E.P. was the only deathcore related material these guys made, mainly because they were all like 17 years old when they made it. They matured on Genesis and went for more of a Death Metal approach, the opposite for Carnifex lol. The Doom EP is severely overated for deathcore charts, seeing how it is the only deathcore type music they ever made, yet people classify all their material as deathcore.

    December 2013
  • VerbalImaginary

Doom is a great record, no doubt about it, but how the fuck are you guys still debating whether or not they play deathcore? They've been a death metal band for damn near ten years, Jesus Christ.

JFAC is a death metal band, deal with it [2] Definitely, nowadays they play in a similar vein to Suffocation, Hate Eternal, Decrepit Birth, etc.

I know Doom was their only deathcore album, but that definitely is the album that got a lot of people into deathcore. They'll always be one of the most important deathcore bands for that reason alone.
