28 Feb 2008, 17:08 by BertelsThu 21 Feb – Sonic Acts The Cinematic Experience day 4.
Too bad Coach Bertels only visited the last day of this spectacular festival.
The previous days were filled with nice music throughout the whole minimalist spectrum including electronic stuff and nature sound improvisations.
Only this last evening was just music, although visuals would have made things juicier.
After quite a few beers and an oldtimer hamburger in “De Beiaard”, coach Bertels walked his way to the “Febo” were he emptied his wallet on the wall. Full with fat he crawled to Paradiso, just a block away. In heaven beer kept flowing and the music was sweet as sugar sticks floating on a warm evening breeze. Cut to the chase Coach!!
Central theme was: the Acousmonium, a sound diffusion system designed in 1974 by Francois Bayle. It contains 80 speakers of different sizes placed across the stage at varying heights and distances. “It puts you inside the sound. It’s like the interior of a sound universe”.
