Jimmy Somerville (b. June 22, 1961) is a singer. Was a star in the 80’s with Bronski Beat and The Communards as well as while working solo.

Born and raised in Glasgow with his signature singing style, he happens to also be a left-wing human rights activist.

He went solo when the Communards split up in 1988.

    I've just watched Jimmy singing You Are My World on TOTP2 new years eve special, brought back so many happy memories of my youth in the 80s..Fantastic Jimmy, keep on doing what you do best, ignore the biggots, they deny the existence of dinosaurs and close their ears justice for all
