    Big River is a great song but is hindered by the parochial nature if the theme limiting its appeal to Tyneside in the same way as Chris Rea's Steel River is identified with Teeside. Both great songs. Some people need to realise that the Gazza version of Fig on the Tyne is NOT typical of regional songs. ps the original Lindisfarme version is a folk classic.
