16 Apr 2009, 13:20 by Ed_BlackI've been meaning to do something like this for ages, and seeing as I'm so bored right now... Here are some lyrics. They are lyrics that I like lots. This doesn't mean they're my favourites or that there aren't others that I like as much or even more. It's just a wee selection. Enjoy.
"My greatest gift to you is a dancefloor, free from insecurity."
- Alexisonfire - Get Fighted
"If I could make a list, of my mistakes and regrets, I'd put your name on top, and every line after it."
- ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Mistakes & Regrets
"I couldn't see the love and affection; it was camouflaged as a jungle of erections."
- The Blood Brothers - Camouflage, Camouflage
"Death's just death no matter how you dress it up."
- The Blood Brothers - Lift The Veil, Kiss The Tank
"And I'm sorry I don't have her face, and I'm probably gonna lose this race. There is no doubt she's such a mouse, with such an abstract grace." - Eisley - Ten Cent Blues

1 Nov 2008, 17:02 by rup_snoggerAs impossible as it sounds, I couldn't come up with some nonsense to put in the title. *sigh* A perfect example of what boredom does to people. I hope the first people to post won't get their comments deleted this time. ^^
1.one two three,
counting out the signs we see
2.I got my head checked
By a jumbo jet
"Blur - Song 2"
3.Love of mine, someday you will die
But I'll be close behind
"Death Cab for Cutie - I Will Follow You Into The Dark"
4.What day is it? And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
"Lifehouse - You and Me"
5.Well when you go,
So never think I'll make you turn to stay,
"My Chemical Romance - I Don't Love You"
6.Grab thy hand and...
7.well it's a different man in your face
and so out of place
8.Reaching out for something you've got to feel
While clutching to what you had thought was real
9.I've lied to you
The same way that I always do
"Linkin Park - Pushing Me Away"
10.I would have given you all of my heart
But there's someone who's torn it apart

2 May 2008, 22:43 by cloudy_skiesWed 30 Apr – Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, Dear and the Headlights
I’ll begin this review by saying I had a few doubts about this concert. I had seen Jimmy Eat World at a Green Day concert, and they played a great show, but they got little to no response from their audience (except, of course, when they played their hit single “The Middle”). I didn’t have a very high opinion of Paramore and I had never heard of Dear and the Headlights. But for all the reservations I had about this night, the concert exceeded all my expectations and was an experience that I literally won’t shut up about.
The opening act, Dear and the Headlights, didn’t have the energy you’d expect from a rock show at the Tsongas Arena. Part of the problem, I think, is that they aren’t really a loud band (there’s an acoustic guitar and keyboard in almost every song!) and the Tsongas arena is really a place to hear heavy rock or rap music. Sound-wise, there was too much emphasis on the bass and drums to let the softer stuff shine through…

So. I saw Jimmy Eat World at Bloomsburg University on April 24. With Paramore and Dear and the Headlights, but obviously they were not at all important. :D
Dear and the Headlights opened... I don't really recall a whole lot about their songs. They didn't sound bad, but I didn't know any of them, so I mostly made fun of people with my friend and whined about how hot it was during their set. :P
Paramore was pretty good. I don't know a whole lot of their music either, but they did pretty much every song of theirs that I know... which would be For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic (my favorite), Born for This, Misery Business, crushcrushcrush, and Pressure. I thought they sort of lacked stage presence... she mostly just stood there and whipped her very orange hair around. They apparently did this cool backflippy trick in the middle of one song, but naturally I chose that exact moment to look away. >.<

After a very long wait, support came from Sparkadia, an Australian band who sounded a bit like Keane and BlackBud. I’m not exactly sure why they’re supporting Jimmy Eat World, but they put on a professional show. Their 30 minute set seemed to drag on and on though, and by the end I was glad it was over, maybe they’re a band who are better to listen to on CD.
After another long wait Jimmy hit the stage and kicked things off with Big Casino. The crowd didn’t really react much to it, a pattern that would continue throughout the night whenever they played a song of the new album. Second song Sweetness shook some life into the place though, with every single person in the building shouting along to the numerous woo-ooo-ooooos. Next came my favourite Jimmy Eat World song, and one of my favourite songs of all time, Work. Jim Adkins was on fine form tonight, hitting every note, and putting a lot of emotion into his performance…and of course getting very sweaty.
