“Bleed American” is the first track on Jimmy Eat World’s album Bleed American (retitled Jimmy Eat World). The song was originally titled “Bleed American”, but similar to the name change of the album after the September 11 attacks, the song was retitled “Salt Sweat Sugar” after the first line in the song’s chorus. The music video features the band playing on a rooftop while being watched by some sort of a CCTV helicopter. “Bleed American” was featured in the film National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, and in the game Guitar Hero 5.
