Recently described as ‘The People’s DJ’ Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan is one of club lands most establishment figures, an innovator and ambassador for dance music an internationally respected DJ, a talented remixer, producer and radio show presenter, owner of Miss Moneypennys and Chuff Chuff Brands, and head honcho of Miss Moneypenny’s Music.

Jim’s roles make him one of the busiest men in the industry and after more than twenty years in the business show’s no sign of slowing down. During 2006 Jim headline the VIP areas at Escape into the Park and Love Leeds, completed a tour of Asia, headlined two of the world’s most glamorous parties - Chuff Chuff, as well as this year starting his 12th Summer residency at El Divino, Miss Moneypenny’s home in Ibiza.

Jim has released 10 compilation albums under the Miss Moneypenny’s name, including the last compilation which was a joint project with the Ministry of Sound. He has produced and remixed under a number of alias including Zoned Out, Groove Allegiance and JSR all receiving critical acclaim. In 2006 under the guise of Zoned Out he released one of the tracks of Ibiza ‘White Rabbit and remixed Antonis Remos one of Greece’s biggest recording artisits for Sony BMG.

Jim also finds the time to run the Moneypenny’s singles label, which signed in 2005, Tom Novy’s ‘Your Body’ a track that stayed in the UK Top 40 for 3 months. As Head of A&R Jim has been scouring the globe looking for the next track that will set the dance floors alight, and with imminent releases from Fingertapp and Per QX expect big things from the label in 2007. For 2007 he has a release schedule that will rival all the other major house labels.

Jim hosts a weekly Miss Moneypenny’s radio show which is broadcasted on HFM Ibiza, Push FM London and Alpha Radio Bulgaria and is soon to be broadcasted on Radio 1 Dubai and The Beat Costa Del Sol. The show is compiled and presented by Jim allowing him to present the Miss Moneypenny’s sound track as well as music from up and coming producers and mixes from established and up and coming dj’s. With all his success Jim Shaft Ryan shows no sign of letting up. After 20 years at the top everything he does seems only to become only more relevant and integral to the club scene. His DJ sets relentlessly push the boundaries of house music and continue to drive whichever club he plays forward. Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan is a true legend of UK house music.
