Jim Perkins is a composer and producer combining composition for acoustic instruments with laptop manipulations. He composes music using a combination of generative processes, music theory and instinct. The subjects of his compositions are often synchronic with the development of the music and inspired by an ever growing list of cultural phenomena. Chief among them at the moment are: French 20th century music, emergence, experimental digital music production, graphic notation and collaboration.
