Jim Butler is a singer/songwriter/musician from New Hampshire, and has been writing and performing since his mid-teens.Originally from Everett, Massachusetts, a working class suburb of Boston. Jim decided to become a musician to “get girls”, then discovered that he had a real talent for it. He picked up the guitar in his early teens, and received one of his first acoustic guitars in 1985. In his early career, Jim was greatly influenced by Bruce Springsteen because he was able to relate to the songs of working class struggles and lost love. Jim had also been writing poetry since his early teens, being influenced by Bob Dylan, and set his poetry to music.

When he was in his early and mid-20’s, Jim’s early performances were for family and friends, at backyard picnics and barbecues. However, he now enjoys a local following, performing at fairs and clubs in the New Hampshire area.

Jim moved to rural Southwestern New Hampshire in the mid-1990’s, where he continued to pursue his dream of becoming a serious musician, while balancing life as a family man with a wife and young son, and working full time to make ends meet.

Jim finally realized his dream of recording and producing his first solo CD of original music, “The Beautiful One”, in 2004. Jim’s vocal styling has been compared to that of David Gray, however, he has an exceptional sound, all his own. His second CD ‘Untraditional’ combined original somgs, plus a few selcted traditonal covers.
