4 Jan 2006, 13:51 by lfcbabetops songs these last couple of days were:
Beautiful, Wrapped Up In Books
and the dresden dolls covering Radiohead - Karma Police. Good stuff, that.
also there was quite some Adam Green and Arcade Fire.
I really though about doing some kind of "Appreciating 2005 in music" post, but since I'm
b) lost in time and space so I cannot figure out what happened in 2005 and what happened before
I decided I'd better not.
But who knows, I can still find time for that.
all I can say that some songs defining 2005 for me (not necessarily discovered in 2005) were
Friends of Mine
Untouchable Face by (only discovered her in 2005, that's for sure)
Last Polka and Steven's Last Night In Town
I've Seen It All
I Will Survive
Not About Love
Never Lose Your Sense of Wonder
Unwritten Letter #1
Retour a Vega
On My Mind
Four to the Floor (though that might be 2004. I'm not sure)
Rama Lama and Monsters
11 Sep 2005, 00:57 by tooscaredtotryI'm listening to Stars and they're very pleasant. I downloaded an album :( but I may buy one I like the most. There's too much music to buy, and I feel bad for downloading stuff, but I enjoy previewing things too much not to.
I was listening to Wilco in chronological order, and I don't have a 2005 entry for them. They should fix that. Also, I am anxious about the new Portishead album I heard rumors about. They should release it on my birthday along with the new Liz Phair, Fionna Apple, and Broken Social Scene albums.
In other news, I still love Jets to Brazil and the French Kicks; it had been a while since I had listened to them.
My top three Jets to Brazil songs: Sweet Avenue, I Typed For Miles, Chinatown. They're all from Orange Rhyming Dictionary, but I also really like Further North, Cat Heaven off Perfecting Loneliness, and Mid-Day Anonymous off Four Cornered Night.
I love grilled cheese + tomatos + ham. Food rocks sometimes. …
