Ottawa, Canada (2006 – present)

What started as a project one week in March, 2006, the members of Canadian Indie rock band Jetplanes of Abraham (JPOA) realized that their combined talents were something more than a weekend jam session, but the beginning of the formation of a band comprising of some of their hometown’s finest indie talent.

After a summer of recording they released thier self-titled debut album in November, 2006. The band was well-received at their c.d. release with a sold out show at Zaphod Beeblebrox - a local Ottawa, Ontario venue.

Their first time opening show was for The Lovely Feathers and Duchess Says as part of Pop Montreal’s Pop-Off tour. They have quickly gathered steam and have performed with numerous acts including The Marble Index, The Most Serene Republic, The Apostle Of Hustle, Do Make Say Think, and many other bands in their hometown of Ottawa as well as shows in other cities including Montréal, and Toronto.
Jetplanes of Abraham is currently comprised of Caleb Abbot, Chris Vechsler, Clayton Fisher, Craig Mainprize, Jacquie Neville, Renee Leduc, and Rick Devereux. Each member plays a variety of instruments making their live show all the more entertaining. Local Ottawa Magazine the Xpress said in their July, 2007 article “Since it seems everyone in the band plays every instrument, their live show is one where band members run frantically from one side of the stage to the other trying to get into place for the next song. This has led to various members falling down or getting poked in the head by an errant violin bow.”

Listening to the album again. Still sounds great. Too bad they didn't get more recognition.

I put Bridge vs. Field since that's how it appears on the case... I know the disc is V. instead of Vs. but vs. is better... lol and I put Stick 'em Up (From the Great Night without a Chill Blast Breaks in upon our Refuge) for Stick 'em Up
