i wish they had a vinyl release for this. they said they were going to back when it came out, but i doubt that's ever going to happen now :(

I used to think the self-titled was the best album, but this surpasses it for me. Somehow they found a way to come off even more depressing than all the other stuff...

No one notice the similarities in the covers between GY!BE's new album and 'Ascension'? Just wondering. That, and this might be my favorite Jesu material.

I've loved Jesu for a long time for the first album, and have grown increasingly dissatisfied with releases over the years. Until this one. A year later, and so many painful moments spent with these songs, and I can definitely say that for me, this is the best Jesu album, and by a long shot. The melancholy of songs like "Broken Home" and "Black Lies" is just unbearable, and this coming from someone who listens almost exclusively to sad music. I can't believe I'm the only person who seems to feel that way.

This is maybe the most defeated-sounding Jesu album. Even by Jesu standards, the vocals are melancholy, generally monotone, and deep back in the mix. Definitely one of my favorite albums from 2011 and a must for any Jesu fan!

Jesu was quite melancholy always. The still unsurpassed debut is quite depressing.
