Where's my two-handed Klingon ax? I feel an urge to conquer coming on...

God, ST V was so bad you'd have to trick me into listening to the soundtrack! Maybe that's why I never heard it, though I'm tempted now. I've never heard anyone say anything about the music in that movie, everyone just avoids talking about that movie-- like a relative with a drinking problem that we've all silently agreed to never discuss because it would seem too painful..

I enjoy this, but think Goldsmith did his best stuff with this Klingon material in Star Trek V. Horrible film, but such great music to that movie...

@yosefyah: "The end is sublime." I know, right?! Waterphone squeaks into quiet phrasing and stirrings in the lower strings and brass with muted brass accompaniment, then suddenly BAM, that awesome tutti double exclamation point, with the blaster beam for emphasis. Insane, man!

@Terrasidius: "One of the best cues in movie score history, absolutely fantastically epic and off the wall. The blaster beams use in this is perfect." You know it. I really love the waterphone, also (the squeaking sound, most audible in the quieter passages), such a great compliment to the blaster beam for that alien V'Ger effect.

Fantastic! One of the best pieces of music in Trek history! No, this wasn't the one with Ricardo Montalban, that was The Wrath of Khan.
