Biography

Jeremy Soule is an award-winning American composer prominent in game music scores. Soule’s soundtracks are often critically acclaimed as being among the best in the computer and video games industry and as rivaling the quality of many orchestral film soundtracks. A large percentage of Soule’s music is done electronically and emulates real orchestral music so well that it is frequently indistinguishable from the real thing. He often collaborates with his brother, Julian Soule, with whom he also founded DirectSong; a company that sells DRM-free downloads of several classical composers, including Jeremy’s own compositions.

He has produced and composed music for:

* Armies of Exigo
* Azurik: Rise of Perathia
* Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance
* IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey

    My favourite is Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic Soundtrack. Of course the Elder Scrolls music is amazing too.

    Whenever I study and need background music that's enjoyable but not too distracting, I listen to the soundtracks he's made for the Elder Scrolls series. [2] The best way to get into Tamriel, besides playing the games, is to meditate to his astounding OSTs. Some of the best scores in gaming history, in my honest opinion.

    "So he asked people for 10K even though he could dish that out of his own pocket" What? What makes you think he's so rich that not even ten grand would have no effect on him? Even musicians with 4 times his lastfm popularity are not that rich.

    All his soundtracks are superb. Morrowind's is probably my favorite of his.

    So he asked people for 10K even though he could dish that out of his own pocket and not even feel it's missing? Wow. Fucking classy.

    v nah, there are some gems in that soundtrack, but I don't see how one can beat the instrumentation and instantly recognizable melodies that bring back so many cherished memories from that mysterious brown wasteland of an island.
