The first formation with this name was founded 1987 in a big studio in Vienna.
It was a studio-project and in a way it still is one.
By that, a lot of excellent musicians where joining the project over the years.
“J” THE MUSIC:
We are talking about American, British, Irish, German, Indian and so on music, but is there something we would call a European one?
Jeremia takes Rock, Pop and classical elements and fuses this mixture with medieval sounds and structures.
Combined with his distinct historical sense, a christian background and a declared belief in Europe, Jeremia tries to give his continent a sound.
“J” THE PERSON:
Jeremia, who writes the songs and the lyrics, started making music at the age of five. His first Guitar he bought when he was eight and five years later he started playing drums. Music is his life, so he even quitted school. During the “New Wave”-era he played with several bands, most of the time drums and later bass. Maybe his glamorous outfit was the main reason why he was asked to be the front man. This time was quite successful.
Together with a friend he founded “Go4it” and recorded the LP “Face the Music”. He started working as a studio musician and was under contract at a German label.
1990 he was the winner of a radio contest, signed a new deal and made a video in New York.
Although the song was played five times a day in Austria, received a real wonderful feedback and even entered the charts, the record company couldn’t manage to distribute the records in time. At least the whole work was just a waste of time. Bad luck!

Jeremia, sechs Jungs aus Niederbayern machen Musik die gefällt. Schubladendenken fällt bei dieser Band nicht leicht. Nicht selten werden Jeremia mit Bands wie Placebo oder Elbow verglichen. Als hätten sie nie etwas anderes gemacht, inszenieren sie ihr umfangreiches Material wie Regisseure eines bewegenden Filmes. Dabei hat die von den sechs Musikern versprühte Melancholie nichts Inszeniertes.
