    In my opinion Elvis Costello does NOT make this song at all. I wouldn't say he ruins it but what I like about the song is the carefree, pop-country drive of the song as well as Jenny's voice which is quite charming.

    I think it just takes time to adjust to Costello's vocals. The first time I heard this song I didn't think i'd ever want to listen to it again, but surprise surprise! It drew me in. Not a huge fan of Costello's verse but what can you do? This song is lovely.
