I've known him all my life, it seems so inconceivable
At thirteen we shooks hands
But we've been always inseparable
He's cinnamon on my toast, we're so close

If you've just stumbled across this track, you've also just stumbled across the best band you've never heard of! Jellyfish was one of the best pop bands of the 90's, and incorrectly lumped in with the "Paisley Underground" movement of the time, even though original guitarist Jason Falkner had been a member of The Three O'Clock. Jellyfish's influences included so much more than the Paisley crowd - specifically Queen, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, XTC, Cheap Trick, Wings, and Badfinger. Always seeking pop perfection. I highly recommend the first album, "Bellybutton," over "Spilt Milk," but you can't go wrong with either, really. Try to find "Jellyfish Comes Alive," a 5-song EP featuring covers of Badfinger's "No Matter What," and Wings' "Let 'Em In" and "Jet."

Kind of reminds me of "Get a Grip" by Semisonic... And a personal computer tee shirt from the 80's by a company called Wang... The slogan was Wang Cares... I shit you not. ;-) After falling in love with Jellyfish in 1990 (The King is Half Undress), took me almost another 20 years to get the second album. Lyrically, so cool. "Babtised the baby in whiskey an liquorice, what a lovely way of fighting sins and toothdecay" (I may be paraphrasing! "New Mistake" from this album

It sounds like they sort of based the intro around the Beatles' If I Needed Someone...I really hope they meant to, considering what this song means. ;)

Heh, so I noticed this showed up on an itunes essentials mix called "friendship songs", which probably means someone missed the metaphor.

A better singing drummer than Phil Collins. Glorious retro sounds like later XTC.
