When I was 7, I picked up the saxophone. I started reading music shortly after, and I picked up the guitar at 12. I formed my first band at 17, and at 18 I cut my first demo and played the midwest college circuit. Music has been a constant in my life. My first significant collaboration was a rock quartet called “DYE THE SKY” I wrote 12 hard edge songs with Dave Mossington, after moving from Detroit to Chicago. Dave and I cut an album (Dye the Sky / Treason Machine) with some great people. Doug Mcbride mixed it (Filter, Cheap Trick, Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, )and the album smoked. We got some airplay in Chicago, and played some great shows in the midwest, including an MTV and VH1 spot, sponsored by Bud Beers. The album was recently re-released on ITUNES in July. I can honestly say that it is a bulletproof record. We started to gain momentum and placed “Running” in a Chicago indy film called Stay Dead. After doing a sold out show in the Chicago, we were introduced to Chicago’s premier booking agency. At that time, a lot of doors were being opened for us. We did some killer shows and shot a full length video. We did multiple shows for Budweiser, and supported national acts in Chicago. We did a hard rock showcase sponsered by MTV and a VH1 showcase. It was a great time ! Dye the Sky cooled down as the members had families, moved to the west coast, and climbed the corporate ladder. I took a hiatus from music for a couple of years, and focused my attention on other affairs, all the time being at a loss without a creative outlet. After encouragement from close friends, I picked up my acoustic and started penning what are now songs from my just released EP “Chicago”.
