Early years
Jean-Michel Jarre is the son of famous French composer Maurice Jarre and France Jarre. His parents separated when he was 5 years old, his father moved to the United States (he did not see him again until the age of 18), and Jarre remained with his mother in the suburbs of Paris. In childhood Jarre studied piano but the experience proved difficult. His more general interest in musical instruments was sparked by the discovery of a trumpet violin created by Boris Vian.

For the tags issue, I try to go with the spelling of the original albums.

If you like ambitious and relaxing music, maybe it´s possible you like XYLVANYA: „Anxious“; „Beach II“ „SA RIERA part I“, "Imperial Crown" „Climbing“ or „Ex-Mannequin“ or „Horizont (III) or "Gewitter-Regen" or "Erinnerungen an meinen Vater" or "Trust (Piano-Version)" or "Norwegen" or "Retrospective view" and many many more.....(all in all 6 hours of music, all songs free download) . Thank you for listening, support or feedback! Peace, Xylvanya

@radiocy_2010 and alin1: Thanks a lot, i appreciate your help very much. I've recently started to listen to JMJ and wanted to keep tags clean. And kill any mistakes before they grow.

I use "Part x" for every album with parts (e.g. Chronologie Part 2). Two exceptions: for Oxygene 7-13 I use just numbers, without the word "Part" (e.g. Oxygene 9) and for Rendez-Vous I use ordinal numbers (e.g. Fourth Rendez-Vous).

@lowlifed: Check what's the most used tag. For example: Equinoxe Part 1 (107,168 Scrobbles; 41,995 Listeners) vs Equinoxe 1 (4,274 Scrobbles; 1,026 Listeners). Look at the charts. To avoid charts with multiple tags for the same song (e.g. Oxygene 4, Oxygene Part 4, Oxygene Part IV), I recommend you to use the same tag for every version of the song, no matter what is printed on the back cover of the album. For example use Equinoxe Part 4 on every album with this song (Equinoxe, Images, The Essential, AERO, The Concerts in China etc). I discovered that a bit too late.

It depends(R). From the CD inlays I've seen, t's always "Equinoxe (or Magnetic Fields) Part 4", but Oxygene is either "(Part IV)" or "Part IV". Some Rendez-vous parts are split up sometimes, e.g. Second Rendez-vous Part 1..3. I'd refer to one of the online tagging databases if in doubt (MusicBrainz, whatever).

I am very confused when it comes to tagging his songs. Should it be Equinoxe 4 or Exuinoxe IV or Equinoxe part 4 or some other variations? There is even one tagged as Fourth Rendez-Vous! Damn!
