This artist represents the amalgam of composers for Blizzard Entertainment that worked on many games such as StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War. Derek Duke and Glenn Stafford composed the tracks in the menus and the in-game music, while Jason Hayes composed the music used in the cinematic cut scenes. Tracy W. Bush provided additional support in composing.
The musical score for StarCraft was received well by reviewers, who have described it as “appropriately melodic and dark” and “impressive”, with one reviewer noting that some of the music owed much of its inspiration to Jerry Goldsmith’s score for the film Alien. The same composers of the StarCraft and WarCraft series are composing the music for Blizzard’s monumental future release, StarCraft 2.
Jason Hayes is credited as lead composer on Blizzard’s World of WarCraft soundtrack. For WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos each of them is credited individually.
Michael Morhaime who is President and CEO of Blizzard Entertainment states that StarCraft is the one Blizzard game that he is most partial to.
