Biography
Jarcrew (active 2001-2005) was a post-hardcore electronica noise band from Ammanford, South Wales. Hopping from genre to genre in much the same way you would switch channels on a television, the band released a highly innovative and provocative body of work before unfortunately disbanding in 2005 due to their drummer, Rhodri Thomas, becoming a Jehovah’s Witness just as the band were in the process of recording their second album (none of this material was ever released).
While Jarcrew received much critical acclaim, they never quite crossed over into the mainstream. Influential music magazine’s such as Drowned In Sound, Rock Sound, Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, Classic Rock magazine, amongst others, all featured the band and heaped praise on them. Jarcrew even garnered favourable reviews from national newspeapers such as The Mirror, The Guardian & The Express, who all acknowledged the band’s incredibly creativity, originality and potential They were also featured in The Times newspaper’s ‘Bands to Watch for 2004’ feature.
Radio support came from BBC Radio 1 in Wales, BBC 6Music and XFM, featuring live sessions, festival performances & spot plays for thier much touted single ‘Paris & The New Math’ - which spent over a month in the Top 10 on MTV2’s video chart (with the show’s presenter Zane Lowe attempting to copy lead singer Kelson’s infamous on-stage dance moves - and failing!).

Saw these guys in Exeter Cavern years ago and have never actually bought their music. I'm gonna get it though, cos I still remember them being fucking brilliant. Bit of a lame reason to disband!

The album is fantastic, didn't really expect this kind of sound (backtracking from FOTL)! Glad I bought it though, especially considering it was in the 3 for £10 pile in a cheap record store...
