The Faroe Islands might not seem like a hotbed of jazz, but anyone who has followed Tutl's catalogue knows otherwise. The Torshavn-based record label releases a diverse variety of music; some hews close to the traditional material found in these Norse islands, while some is very conceptual and experimental. Tjant's self-titled first album is an offering of relatively straight-ahead modern jazz.
Whispers of the Dragon explores a musical adventure between realities and borders. A fusion of world music, shadowed by dark electronic overtones, Whispers of the Dragon’s music is strongly influenced by the folk music traditions of Bulgaria, the Balkans, Persia, and the Middle East.
Experimental group «Mnogo NEB» from Steppe Altay Mnogo NEB – it’s experiment of two multi-musicians, which uses the abstract lyrics and music compositions, bright female vocals, high as birds singing, and the low hum of a tube.
Lowhum is doing experimental ethno and world music in several languages. He makes wide use of different strings instruments,percussions, electronics, his and sampled vocals and phenomena and objects of nature. Recently he is making some music for theatre and taking part in live theatre and music performances as well as playing on the streets and in friend's homes in Bulgaria and around the world.
