Janove Ottesen (born Jan Ove Ottesen), was born in Bryne, Norway, and is also known as the lead singer of the ompa-rock band Kaizers Orchestra. His solo career started with an unreleased solo project recorded in 1997.

Solo, Janove sings slow and relaxing songs that appeal to a lot of people, and his first solo album Francis’ Lonely Nights sold quite well even outside the european market.

lol he sounds so much clearer in English. His vocals in Kaisers tend to sound slurry to me at times, but then again, I'm used to listening to Norwegian from Bergen.

What's up with the scorn towards an artist singing in English? It brings him/her international exposure to a bigger audience. I'm in Asia and I won't never know of his awesome music chops till I hear of him singing in a more universal language.
