Bagge & Peer's productions here are the best of the lot. It's well worth checking out the bonus tracks. Some of the best songs I've heard from Janet.

I love Discipline, but I adore this album too - two of my fave JJ albums. Everything is better than 20 Y.O.!

So much better than 20 Y.O. and Discipline... [4] - There are just about enough tracks on those two albums to make a decent album.

This album always feels like a breath of fresh air...and it's perfect for a spring listen. Lol...it was released in the spring as well.

"Damita Jo" officially released 10 years ago today. My thoughts on this underrated classic can be read here: http://theqhblend.wordpress.com/2014/03/30/rb-junkie-janet-jacksons-damita-jo-turns-10/

Just have to say that the more I listen to this the more I realise how wrong I was originally. One of the most underappreciated pop albums of the '00s.

@Fabio001 for her, it was a flop. it was her lowest selling album since "Dream Street". after "Velvet Rope" sold $10 million and "All For You" sold $9 million, this was pretty disappointing. although, i must say it is one of her best albums.

3 million copies? very good going...

  • Fabio001

I don't like how people make this album to have flopped. It could have sold way more if the critics appreciated it but selling over 3 million copies isn't a flop.

Some of the interludes though - ugh... They tie in with the album's sort of semi-autobiographical theme but one or two are kinda trite...

Critics panned this album all because of a damn titty. Shame. [2] I think she had the wrong first single too. All Nite or R&B Junkie should've been the first single instead of Just A Little While.

Even though this album was released under tense circumstances - it's still one of Janet's best albums, IMO. Definitely her most R&B influenced record.

It sure is her most slept on. Who cares if shes all sexual, she's allowed to if she wants. That's what she's known for. Whatever though, great record.
