When Jane’s Addiction started out touring this song used to be the show closer. They would bring out this huge drum and smoke machines. With Perry’s strange high wail it felt like you were part of some ancient ritual. The drum was so loud that you could feel the song more than hear it.

I just heard "Chip Away" on J C Hutchins' podcast and was blown away by the drums. A very powerful piece of music...a great attention getter!

I dusted off my old Jane's XXX CD, plopped it in and started listening to it. When I clicked on the artist page, I saw they got an EP sampler out for the NINJA 2009 tour. By chance, I just listened to the original and the 2009 version back to back. LAST.FM, I can't stay mad at you. It's all good, baby.
