Jamie Lidell (born September 18, 1973, Huntingdon, England) is a musician and soul singer, signed to Warp.
Famed for his largely improvised shows, that see Jamie constructing his tracks live, voicing and layering right in front of your eyes, effortlessly whipping them out of the air and forging them into clanking electro riffs and deathprod funk grooves.
Likened to Sly Stone, Prince and Little Richard, he is Britain’s voice of soul for the new era.
Jamie is/was half of the Super_Collider project. He has also helped write and produce on the albums of Mocky, who in return drums in his live band.

nullpunkt - I would echo what Agronaut has said. If you liked his earlier stuff go check him out live. I saw him do a gig last year and he did a fair bit of twiddly sampling and more electronic stuff. It wasn't all him singing! :)

dear nullpunkt , just visit one of his concerts and you will see that he is much, much more than what you call "conventional". I liked his electronic stuff, too (e.g. Super Collider), but the stuff he is doing right now is fantastic - even though his albums as "Jamie Lidell" are awesome, you can only see, hear and feel his passion to music, if you see him on stage. I think, people are best in things they love to do - and that´s what Jamie is doing.
