I Never Learnt to Share (4:52)

Cover of James Blake

From James Blake

According to the I Never Learnt To Share Songfacts, the repeated lyric “My brother and my sister don’t speak to me but I don’t blame them” was explained by Blake in an interview with Q Magazine: “Well, I’m an only child. You could psychologically pick that apart but it was an in-joke. I didn’t resent being an only child, but I saw that other people had brothers and sisters and I always felt slightly sorry for myself that I didn’t learn to socialize, (but) there’s a contentment with your own company.
