Jacqueline “Jackie” Marie Evancho (born April 9, 2000), is an American classical crossover singer. Following a second place finish on the fifth season of America’s Got Talent, she has released two studio albums, one independent album, and one EP. She has sold in excess of 2 million albums, has reached #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums Chart twice, and has reached #1 on Billboard’s Classical Albums Chart four times within just 16 months. Having collaborated with the legendary Barbra Streisand, and pop singer Susan Boyle, as well as working with producer David Foster, Evancho has achieved monumental success despite her young age.

In 2009, Evancho independently released her debut album, “Prelude to a Dream”. The album was released with just 4,000 printings. Because of digital success following her appearance on the fifth season of America’s Got Talent, the album charted in the 121st position of the Billboard 200 albums, and the 2nd position of the Billboard Classical albums chart. Following a whirlwind of media coverage after her second place finish on the show, Evancho released her debut holiday EP, “O Holy Night”, in November 2010. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums, and number one on the Billboard Classical albums, and later achieved Platinum status. Evancho is the youngest solo artist ever to go Platinum in the U.S.

In June 2011, Evancho’s debut studio album, “Dream With Me”, was released, and charted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums, and number one of the Billboard Classical albums. The album would later achieve “Gold” status, and sell in excess of 500,000 copies.

Found her so randomly about a week ago. Never felt so touched by a voice as I have with Jackie Evancho.

I listened to her first near a year ago, and I know now that years of listening are still ahead... This voice is unforgettable.

Hallelujah with Peter Hollens made me think about how weird it is to hear Jackie sing that "she tied you to a kitchen chair" line, followed by a chorus of "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE GOING AWAY NOW BYE"

Wow, she has certainly grown up. :) Not in a bad way. My friend's daughter is her age -- I know it must especially be hard for a famous vocalist to transition from "child prodigy" to respected adult soprano.

Apparently she covered My Immortal (Evanescence), which is a bonus track on the Japanese version of Awakening. :P Here's a review of the first Awakening concert, which was taped to be aired as a PBS special later this year. It includes the setlist, which may or may not be indicative of what she'll be singing on tour. The setlist also included Say Something. I hope that *isn't* permanent in the setlist. :P Another thing I love about Awakening is that there are no duets at all. Much, much, much better this way.

The album is on Spotify, or at least it's available here in the US. :) Aaaa. Your Love, and the original tracks Take Me There and Open Fields of Grace, have captured me maybe even more than the Memories cover, incredibly. Just perfect vessels for Jacqueline's voice. Made to Dream (which she co-wrote) is great too, as a follow-up to the Dream With Me title track. And Je T'aime and With or Without You... yeah, all of it... easily my #2 album of the year after The Quantum Enigma. ;) Though I do wish the accompaniment on With or Without You had been more like the softer, more melancholy version(s) by Scala & Kolacny Brothers. TBH I don't *need* her to do symphonic metal, but obviously I'd welcome that if she's actually a fan of more than just the ballads. :) Maybe sometime she'll be a guest vocalist for WT or a similar band. I'd go ballistic. But it had better be a song that makes better use of her voice than Paradise did Tarja's! :P

You should hear her when she was eight (Prelude to a Dream) ;) Haha, I was more right than I ever guessed about the tracklist. A Within Temptation cover. I've basically been stuck in a state of IS THIS THE REAL LIFE, IS THIS JUST FANTASY for a few days now because of that. Sometimes real waking life is unbelievably amazing. Awakening is a fantastic album.
