South Korea (2010 – present)

JYJ (previously known as JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN) is a trio, formed by former members of the South Korean boyband 동방신기 / 東方神起 (TVXQ) : Jaejoong (영웅재중/김재중), Yoochun (믹키유천), and Junsu (시아준수).

The three members of TVXQ filed a lawsuit in mid-2009 against their South Korean record label, SM Entertainment, arguing that the 13-year length and structure of their exclusive contracts as well as the terms of profit distribution were unilaterally disadvantageous towards the artists and should be invalidated. The Seoul Central District Court in October, 2009 ruled in their favor on this matter.

Following the hiatus of TVXQ, the three member group was announced under the name of ‘JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN’ in April 2010 by Rhythm Zone. The trio kicked off their activities with a Japan Tour ‘THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME’ in May and June and appearances at the annual A-nation lives in Japan during the summer. The trio also released a personal travel documentary of all three members titled ‘3HREE VOICES’ and a mini- album, ‘The…’.

In September 2010, Avex Entertainment announced the suspension all of JYJ’s Japanese activities. Avex claims this stems from issues the label had with the president of the group’s Korean management, C-JeS Entertainment.[4] JYJ stated it was a conflict over new terms demanded by Avex in contract renegotiation.

The group released their English-language global debut album, The Beginning, under the name ‘JYJ’ in October 2010. A worldwide album showcase tour was announced, touring Southeast Asia cities as well as the United States. A 2-day special concert ‘JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul’ was held at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium from November 27-28 after the World Showcase.

    v I agree with you, after what happened I don't think they'll reunite. I think most Cassies just want them to be friends again because they seemed so close when they were together, but the thing is we don't know idols behind the scenes and never will... maybe they weren't so close after all. BUT I'm still one of those who thinks db5k's music is way better than what both tv2q and jyj are releasing and that doesn't make me delusional or anything similar. Wishing for a reunion is a natural thing since they were so good together but some fans go over the limit and it gets really tiring.

    sry for the essay but ot5 fans drive me fucking nuts because this isn't 2009 (it's mind-numbing to know that fans are cray enough to believe this isn't 2013 -- ELFs also suffer from this), and with the way things have been going, they ain't ever getting back together (to compare their split to other (mostly western bc well yeah only real examples i can think of) groups, their chances of a reunion are slim atm, unless both sides actually disband and ppl go solo/start doing other shit, but by the time they do reunite, they'll be old/bloated/haggard and literally about 10 people will care about them).

    what the hell do you expect from a split like that? they're still gunna be bffls? THAT is delusion. even if they don't think it, the other side is now essentially an enemy (blown up even more by SM's blocking of JYJ in most media outlets, and comments from JYJ members about the split/Yunho&Changmin). they split because they wanted to, both sides have gone their own way because they wanted to. they may or may not have been 'raw' about the split (something we'll never know), if they are ever going to 'get in contact' in public, it'll be like 10 years down the line, when you/everyone else stops caring about them (apart from YunJae stans, they're the plague that will never be vanquished, and are the type of fans i think i can guarantee you, that ALL of them, either side, absolutely LOATHE). don't let me stop you from thinking that way though, perhaps just put more thought in before typing some comment like "ot5 4 lyf" and perhaps evaluate the situation(s) more
