J.P. Mortier was born in Albi, southern France and lived in Tunisia before his family relocated in Montreal. It goes to follow that he would travel the world, busking in Japan, fighting shoe salesmen on the Trans-Siberian, catching iguanas in a Mexican bus and roding camels in the Australian outback….. Some of these events are portrayed in his songs including those found on his new CD: Backpacker.
