We weren't friends with anyone!" - JJ Burnel, front man of the great The Stranglers, reminisces about Joe Strummer, "sharing a flat with a bloke called Wilko Johnson," and the tragic story behind "5 Minutes." Burnel also discusses the punk band's songwriting evolution, and their seventeenth (seventeenth!) studio album, Giants:

"Euroman cometh" cometh as such a welcome surprise among all that pretentious boring French cold wave merde (which description I consider fitting for approx. 50% of that stuff... or any stuff for that matter) ... Careless synth orgy served cold with lyrics half abstract and overall cheerful tongue-in-cheek stupidity... and it's by J.J. - the coolest strangler of all time! What's more to ask? A proper video perhaps?
