Liverpool band, 1980's. Early single 'A Gigantic Raft (in the Philippines)' used to crop up on Peel at the time. Guitars, keyboards, synth, deadpan vocals. Nicely crafted songs with a sound that has aged pretty well. Breakthrough single 'Driving Away From Home' is a stand-out from a strong crop of tunes. Second album 'Song'(1990) was more sombre, but maintained the same story-telling lyrics and wry humor.…

  • Life's Hard... is so great. I got it on cd a few years ago on the strenth of remembering how good Driving Away From Home was. Jack who? Jack Cadilliac? I said Jack who and you said Jack Hatchback? And I said Jack who? And you said Jack Kerorack... Haven't heard Song. Looking forward to it.
