This is a top 5 Maiden song for me. I was blown away from the moment I heard it and still am every time I listen to it. AMOLAD's Masterpiece without a doubt.

@HohenheimOL: exactly. Regarding this song: so deliciusly dark and menacing it hurts.

I really have to wonder how people can call this a bad album. Sure, Maiden adopted a more proggy style, but what's wrong with that? I mean, songs like these are a clear demonstration that they're damn good at mixing their signature style with progressive song structures to create some truly magnificent music. I mean, how can you criticize them for adopting a style they're clearly AMAZING at playing? Some things truly confound me.

I still can't get over how chilling and awesome this song is. Musically and lyrically, it's an absolute masterpiece. The vocals at 4:47 are particularly awe-inspiring.

There's a riff in the middle that totally sounds like the boss music from Final Fantasy VII.

Best song on the album and one of Maiden's best epics easily. [3]

For me, one of the few attractions on an otherwise bland album. A classy song and as others have said, brilliantly arranged with great acoustic parts.
