There's a few really good songs on here, and some really bad ones. Very uneven album, but hey, it's better than No Prayer for the Dying. Maiden's attempt at speed metal on "Be Quick or Be Dead" is ... interesting. There's a reason they've never attempted that again. For all of Bruce Dickinson's greatness, I'm afraid he's no Rob Halford.
Pretty decent album. I like that it encompasses a wider range of styles than other maiden albums, however, it has an awful lot of fillers (fear is the key, chains of misery, the apparition) for their standards and the title track is, at least in my humble opinion, one of the most overrated tracks in history
It's a good album. It isn't a masterpiece, far from it. Honestly, I think the title song is a boring track, but I like many other songs from this album. Fear Of The Dark can be famous, but if being famous means something, then boy bands are the greatest thing on Earth. Still a good album, anyway.
It is only on the top charts because is one of the band's best albums. Only that. I don't know why so many people hate it, maybe because the song that gives the album its name is the most famous even than those on the 80's albums? No matter what some say, FOTD is a masterpiece.
FOTD would have made an excellent five song EP if it was made up by Be Quick Or Be Dead, Childhood's End, The Fugitive, Judas Be My Guide and the title track. As an album is it very flawed as the rest of the songs suck.
Fear of the dark, to chyba jeden z kawałków Ironów który mi się najbardziej przejadł. Naprawdę tyle razy go słyszałam z własnej lub przymuszonej woli, że już mam go dość na resztę życia :) Za to Wasting Love to świetny utwór.
Though maybe it sounds more obvious today that Maiden slowly were imploding, this album had some new and fresh additions to Maiden's sound, which I like. However, I do think the title track is overrated. I mean, it's a great sing-along tune for live performances, but other than that it never was anything special to me.
Although one of their weaker albums, which has probably Maidens worst song (The Apparition) you can't ignore great tracks like 'Afraid To Shoot Strangers', 'Wasting Love', the underrated 'Judas Be My Guide' and of course the brilliant title track
