i personally think that this album couldn't have sounded better. i would hate ány difference. i'm so attached to it.. the whispery thought of him recording these songs on his 8-track, in the attic, while his children are sleeping.. it's one of the most magical albums in the world.

I was pretty surprised by the lo-fi style in the beginning and disliked it, but after a while it’s quite ok. There’s some humming sometimes which is annyoing, anyway, the album seems to be great so far. Got it in mail today. :-)

lo-fi could be a processing effect you could add later, but if you've ever heard a good live musician un-amped, just them and their guitar, do you really want to hear the mic, or the musician? Obviously, the artist has made his mind up.

yeah, gotta say it's a bit of a shame he stopped the lo-fi sound after this album. but he's doing very well for himself now, and maybe if he stuck to lo-fi it would've been like a gimmick for him.
