Biography

There are two artist named Invertigo:
1. Invertigo were an australian four-piece pop/rock group
2. InVertigo is a progressive rock band from Germany

1. Invertigo were an Australian four-piece pop/rock group active in the early 2000s.

Its members were Christian Argenti as well as brothers Gerry Leigh ( Gerome William Leigh, James Leigh and Vince Leigh (the latter two of which were former members of Pseudo Echo).

The three Leigh brothers, however, found vocalist Christian Argenti as their new lead singer and reformed with the slightly different name of Invertigo in 2000. The June 2000 single “Desensitised”, which they performed on the variety show Russell Gilbert Live, signalled a return to the charts. 2001 saw the release of another single, “Chances Are”, in February 2001, and soon after, their debut album Forum in July. Since their only album, the band’s current whereabouts is unknown.

Originally formed as Vertigo in 1996, they released the single “Forever Lately” in 1997 which became an Australian radio hit. The Vertigo lineup consisted of lead singer Hugh Wilson as well as the three Leigh brothers. Following the departure of their lead singer in 1999, Invertigo disbanded.

2. InVertigo (Ger)
Sebastian Brennert - Vocals, Keys
Matthias Hommel - Bass
Carsten Dannert - Drums
Jacques Moch - Guitars
Michael Kuchenbecker - Keys

To me it's a travesty that this band isn't around. Guess there's no room in pop/rock for a band that play songs from the gut, with real emotion? Almost forgot about these guys... Still love their songs...

Christian Argenti quit the band in 2002 wanting to do a solo thing. It never eventuated. He worked in Melbourne for a few years outside the music industry, and has now moved back to Queensland where he spent many of his younger years. The rest of the band (the 3 brothers) are still pursuing other low profile musical endeavours. This is from someone who knows, by the way ;)

The last thing I remember about these guys is that they were headed to America to try and make it big... and I've never heard about them since.
