1. Inquisition (US) is a black metal band formed in Seattle, Washington with origins in Colombia where the founder, Dagon, was living at the time. The band was fully realized in 1996 when Dagon left Colombia for the US and met Incubus who joined on drums. This line-up has remained stable for more than ten years. Their sound involves the combination of old school thrash metal, major guitar progressions with the depth and darkness of black metal’s chaotic minor guitar progressions. Dagon’s voice is very monotonous and chant like and does not sound like any voice typically used in black metal. Dagon has expressed that his vocal style is not meant to reflect that of a human, but rather that of an unseen entity in demonic form.
2. Inquisition (US) was a hardcore punk band from Richmond, Virginia formed in 1991 while members were still in High School. They recorded their first full-length album, Broken Songs, in 1993. Their most well-known recording, “Revolution, I Think It’s Called Inspiration”, was released in early 1996. They significantly influenced the local and national scene, and several members went on to form other seminal bands such as Strike Anywhere, River City High, and Ann Beretta. Their final show was on September 8, 1996 at the Biograph Theatre in Richmond, Virginia, although the band reformed briefly in 2007 for a 2 night reunion show May 18th and 19th in Richmond.
