There are at least seven artists with the name Laika: 1.) Laika is a band founded in 1993 by vocalist/lyricist Margaret Fiedler and producer/engineer Guy Fixsen. Fiedler was previously a member of the Too Pure band Moonshake. Fixsen had worked as a producer and engineer for that band, and also legendary bands such as My Bloody Valentine and The Breeders.
Puracane was formed by David Biegel (instrumentation) and Ali Rogers (vocals), joining it later Knox Chandler (guitar) and Susan Elinger (piano). The formation has changed a bit during the years. Nowadays the band counts upon, beside the former members, Andrew Griffiths (drums), Tony Diodore (guitar and violin) and David Leatherwood (bass).
Since their first collaboration on Dzihan & Kamien’s 2002 album ‘Gran Riserva’, vocalist / songwriter Madita and multi-instrumentalist / producer Vlado Dzihan have forged an ongoing partnership in music as well as in life.
A native of Oakville, Ontario, Al Okada was amongst the founding members of King Cobb Steelie. Formed during university, the indie success of the band in Canada gave Al the chance to experience both the studio and live performance setting. After being with the band for seven years, Al became clear of the new direction he wanted for his music.
Lost Balance is a Spanish trip-hop band founded in 2000 in Granada by Isabel Benedi and Mariano Rodriguez (formerly of a band called Lunatic Fringe). Their discography includes a demo CD entitled "Analogical Shotcuts", an EP with 4 remixes, a self-released EP with unreleased tracks called "Bed" (2003) and 2 albums - "Air Control" (2001) & "Alone In Multitudes" (2004) - both on Autoreverse.
Elysian Fields have always travelled in mysterious waters. Led by the enigmatic New York co-composers Jennifer Charles (vocals) and Oren Bloedow (guitar), the music born of their collaboration is not easy to categorize.
