About this album
IDMEN is the second full-length album by the Polish rock band Indukti.
Album is a metaphorical tale of human struggle with destiny, faith, daily life, nature and himself. The album’s title is taken from mermaids’ song from XII Book of Homer’s Odyssey and means “we know” or “we’ve seen”:
“idmen gar toi panth’ hos’ eni Troie^i eureie^i
Argeioi Trôes te theôn iote^ti moge^san,
idmen d’, hossa gene^tai epi chthoni pouluboteire^i”
(For we know all the toils that in wide Troy
the Argives and Trojans endured through the will of the gods,
and we know all things that come to pass upon the fruitful earth.)
Song Tusan Homichi Tuvota, sang by Nils Frykdahl from Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, based on old Hopi tale written by Edward A. Kennard and Alber Yava and published in 1944 by Education Division, United States Indian Services
The album cover contains a painting by Justyn Parafianowicz
