There are six artists named Indica:
1) A Finnish pop rock band.
2) The psytrance solo-project of Eliad Grundland, also in Space Buddha.
3) A rock/electronic/psychedelic band from Argentina.
4) A defunct mathcore group from England.
5) A three piece stoner rock/metal band based in Dundee, Scotland.
6) A post-thrash metal band from Santa Barbara, California.

Jonsu (vocals, violin), Heini (bass), Sirkku (keyboards), Jenny (guitar) and Laura (drums) founded Indica in 2001. Before this the girls had already spent their entire childhood surrounded by classical music and had also played in a few different band line-ups. In the Christmas of 2002 Indica signed a management contract with Peter Kokljuschin and in 2003 a record deal with SonyMusic, leading to Indica starting work on their debut album.
The album was co-produced by Gabi Hakanen and Erno Laitinen, and from here began the journey of Indica and Erno together which took them through three albums. The 30,000 platinum-selling debut album Ikuinen virta was released in 2004, and from this album the title track as well as the song Scarlett were released as singles. Indica’s second record Tuuliset tienoot was released in the autumn of 2005 and went on to sell over 20,000 discs, the third album Kadonnut puutarha was released in spring 2007 and their fourth, Valoissa, in fall 2008.

I think you probably caught them on a bad day; when I saw them they were playing great and Jonsu's voice was awesome. The English versions were fail though, especially as I'd gone to the trouble of learning the Finnish (I sung them anyway \m/) And as you can tell from my avatar I adore Tuomas but I too think he's not that suited for working with Indica; the stuff I've heard from Valoissa is still good, but I'd much rather have the more happy-go-lucky stuff like Vuorien Taa. Valoissa sounds... overproduced, I suppose.

Eventhough I love Indica, I have to say that I haven't listened to them in ages, because I've been very disappointed. After seeing their awful live show where none of them could basicly even play correctly, and Jonsu's singing was just horrible. Maybe they had a bad day then, maybe not. And then hearing English versions of old songs which were completely awful. I just lost my taste... I really hope they're not going to the already fucked up symphonic rock/metal shit. And I hope they stay with the finnish vocals. And I hope Tuomas keeps away from their songs. Phew. Rant over ^_^
