Jonsu (vocals, violin), Heini (bass), Sirkku (keyboards), Jenny (guitar) and Laura (drums) founded Indica in 2001. Before this the girls had already spent their entire childhood surrounded by classical music and had also played in a few different band line-ups. In the Christmas of 2002 Indica signed a management contract with Peter Kokljuschin and in 2003 a record deal with SonyMusic, leading to Indica starting work on their debut album.

The album was co-produced by Gabi Hakanen and Erno Laitinen, and from here began the journey of Indica and Erno together which took them through three albums. The 30,000 platinum-selling debut album Ikuinen virta was released in 2004, and from this album the title track as well as the song Scarlett were released as singles. Indica’s second record Tuuliset tienoot was released in the autumn of 2005 and went on to sell over 20,000 discs, the third album Kadonnut Puutarha was released in spring 2007 and their fourth, Valoissa, in fall 2008.

I still wish they would just make songs in both English and Finnish (even combining the two in one song). But apparently they've chosen just English then.. at least for now.

@ayuxx Dunno, really. *For a finnish* she doesn't sing so bad as she could. Only *really* aweful thing is the "worry" in a Straight and Arrow line. But make Indica a english-lyrics band would be really a big loose for finnish modern culture. As someone writed above, she is really skilled in finnish lyrics, also uses kalevalian metric sometimes and is not so common today, finnish are amazed by her way of writing and with their poetry they conquer they heart. As skillful she can be, they needed anyway someone else for the english lyrics of A Way Away, ALSO, they are not at the finnish-level of poetic epicness!

"It fits Jonsu's voice more than English, IMO." I agree with this. Jonsu sounds a bit... screechy when she sings in English. I hope it's just because she's not as used to singing in English, and that she'll improve over time. But right now... Finnish > English.
