Incandescent Highway formed late 2006 in rural British Columbia, Canada. After releasing the demo tape “%%%” and selling all 111 copies in early 2007, they gained a modest but faithful underground following.

The group resurfaced after a period of creative isolation with the self-released debut album “Radiant Waves” in January 2010. The band’s lack of a MySpace page, record label, and website is attributed to the mysterious, ethereal image they have created to accompany their musical soundscapes, though recent attempts to track down original interviews by fans have been fruitless. They are also known for their reticent live-concerts, where they never speak with the audience and leave the stage promptly after the last song.

Although the band refuses to categorize their style into a single genre, fans frequently describe them as “experimental shoegaze” or simply “nu-gaze.”

Rumours abound among the fan community that due to the warm reception of Radiant Waves, news of a North American tour will soon be released.

A noticeable example of the groups aversion to attention followed a review of ‘Radiant Waves’ by the popular music webzine Pitchfork in which it was awarded a rating of 10.0 and the tag of ‘best new music’. The band contacted owner Ryan Schreiber (who was a large fan of the band) requesting the removal of the article, which was promptly taken down.

Yeah, ignour the fake shoegaze compliation with The Fauns, Sleep Party People, BoC and the rest. It took me a while to find a real download, but it was worth it. Brilliant album. And the description is right; they have NO stage presence live. Sounded great, but the show was a little disapointing.

Michael from The Fauns here, kinda flattering that two of our tracks are on Incandescent Highways... If you want the real thing we still have a few copies of our album available on CD and there is a double vinyl coming out soon on Deep Space Recordings... more info on

AtleticoRafaela - nice job at ruining it, hero. You obviously didn't get the 'point' of this band.
