Inbar Bakal was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel, is an Israeli singer and songwriter who grew up in a very traditional home with distinct Yemenite and Iraqi roots. The Jewish Yemenite culture is known for its musical tradition and strong devotion to the Bible (Torah). Bakal’s debut album Song of Songs produced by Carmen Rizzo is a mix of Western classical, Arabic, and Israeli music.

Inbar started as a child singer at the age of 6, where she was a member of the “Li-Ron Choir” and gained advanced classical training as she participated in International Musical Festivals throughout the Middle East and Europe. When 12, her choir performed on the soundtrack to the 1993 film Schindler’s List. Staring at age 18, Inbar served 4 years with the Israeli Air Force where she was the first female officer ever in the Anti-Aircraft Combat Division, then a First Lieutenant in Military Intelligence Specializing in Public and International Relations.

Since relocating to Southern California in 2003, she has been writing and rewriting biblical text using old Yemenite melodies about yearning for love and a home for the Jewish people to write a very special and heartfelt album. Every text, tune, and melody has come from the deepest place in the soul.
