The darkness that is Melodic Black Metal band; In Silentio Noctis, found its beginning during the grim year of 2006 A.D. Though conjured forth in a twisted mind years earlier, the manifestation of this Melodic Black Metal orchestra only happened when Armi Päivinen and Elias Vihma left behind an era of compromises and ventured forth on their own, creating an entity of their own order.

During the following year, the first embodiment of their creative synergy slowly formed and was hewn into their first demo, ‘Symphonies of Death’, in December.

In 2009, the shadow over Finland grew stronger, as In Silentio Noctis again entered the studio to record their debut album. When winter had thawed, the band stirred in May to finally carve their impression into the metal scene. ‘Through Fragments of Christianity’ was recorded at D-Studio in Klaukkala, mixed by Nino Laurenne at Sonic Pump Studios and mastered at the legendary Finnvox Studios by Minerva Pappi.

The evil was unleashed on March 5th, 2010, spreading the darkness further than ever before!

Great, really. I found it accidentally while visiting the Symphonic black metal page. IMO The voice fits very well in the music making it sounds dark and melancholic

I like the female vocals and the somber atmosphere. Diffrent from other symphonic BM bands or gothic metal bands.

Metal-Archives is a good source for everything. It has good links for further reading too. Some reviews are decent but they are all different because every opinion is different. There are a lot of elitists, in general in Metal. That's where the problem starts. Not the actually site. It is a fairly designed site so, that's all that really counts I guess.

It just seems like the music is in two different speeds with the vocals being slower and the guitars/drums ata faster pace. I mean I love female vocals in bm, A Forest of Stars, Wolves in the Throne Room, early Paysage dHiver, but this band doesn't reallt strike a chord with me.

@lucimizerii Yeah it's just you. In Silentio Noctis doesn't sound muffled at all to me. The rhythms are obviously perfect and the rhythm is the only thing I can think of that would get you off. It's all perfectly in sync. The instruments are all professional and high quality. So their should be no problem, whatsoever. Perhaps, the files you've obtained has a poor sound quality but, that shouldn't be the problem. Oh, and I think the vocals fit perfectly. It's just something different but, similar to a lot of other Black Metal. I'd actually prefer these vocals instead of them finding some really crappy vocalist. So, it's pretty much better.

Dunno why, but it sounds like the vocals had worse production than the other instruments or something...It just sounds kind of muffled compared to everything else. There's something that makes it...not fit so well? Like maybe it would need a different microphone or mixing or something? A shame. Just sounds like something's not right. Mebbe you don't get what I'm talking about and I used all the wrong words, stupid as I am. Sorry if that's the case. Mebbe it's just me.

These guys definitely have potential, and I agree with what Rusty says--Cursed definitely isn't a gothic metal song, lol. Reminds me of Carach Angren with female vocals. Can't wait to hear the full length.

Yes they are new songs, full length album has been recorded and if all the odds are in our side, it will be out this year. Meanwhile, go and check our myspace site(myspace.com/insilentionoctis)! 3 songs from the upcoming album have been released there.

This is the problem with every metal band with a female singer being labeled "gothic metal". Musically (tremolo picking, blast beats, double bass, and generally fast tempos) they play symphonic black metal. The vocals are hardly enough to lump them in with Within Temptation and Tristania and such. Anyway. Are those NEW SONGS I see in the top tracks? The new album might be my most anticipated of 2009.

Sounds to me like symphonic black metal... but instead of guttural screeching or growling there is beautiful operatic vocals... and instead of those high pitch screams, you have the "ahhhhhhhs" haha. Sounds really awesome :)
