Ildjarn-Nidhogg is the name under which Ildjarn released music recorded with friend and collaborator Nidhogg. Much like Ildjarn’s other output, the style of music ranges from raw black metal to peaceful ambient music.

The Ildjarn-Nidhogg name first appeared on the 7” Norse EP in 1993, and again in 1996 on the Svartfråd MCD. These two releases, along with unreleased tracks, later appeared on a compilation entitled Ildjarn-Nidhogg years later in 2003 after Ildjarn ceased recording music. The two musicians also recorded an album of serene ambient music entitled Hardangervidda which was released in 2002. Leftover tracks from this session were subsequently released on MCD under the title Hardangervidda Part 2 in the same year.

What was the point of that statement anyway? I thought he was a quiet-spoken person who never bothered with the rest of humanity in any way, but that "final statement" shows quite the opposite (I've only skimmed through it though).

Ildjarn is an asshole (wish i'd never read his final statement/rant/pile of shit), but he wrote some fine tunes.

I get your assumption, as I believe I've read he is quite the environmentalist, which in some cases involves veganism/vegetarianism as well.

Reading what Ildjarn has said about him, I doubt it. I think there was a significance difference between the two, but I'm just speculating from one or two references Ildjarn has made to him. He could've been. There's no real way of knowing apart from actually asking Ildjarn.

Yeah, this is very underrated. Especially the Ambient. I'm in love with their black metal works, but Hardangervidda is just magnificent.

The only songs I remotely find similar to Eksistensens Jeger are Svart Dag(The Nothingness) and Bak To Lysende Øyne of the same compilation album.

Yesterday, my train fucked up and had to continue my trip by bus, through breathtaking countryside, while listening to Blissful Mountain View... The feeling experienced at a moment like that isn't exactly easy to put into words. Breathtaking comes close though.

Both the black metal and the ambient albums are amazing.. Among my favorites are Eksistensens Jeger, Highlands pt 1, Svart Dag and Amber Lake. A lot of underdiscovered gems have been released under this name!
