26 Oct 2008, 02:36 by MoogleFanI've been working on this playlist since around 2005 or so, using many of these songs in Halloween mixes at my house, for friends, at my former school, events, etc., etc., and often on shuffle at various times of the year. I'm sure there is still a lot missing here, so suggesting artists, albums, and tracks that are Halloween-suitable (or just good for spookiness, haunting introspection and/or dark-ish party music in general) is very much welcome. Even if they're from artists that I have on here, because, in all probability, I've missed some glaringly obvious ones. What's more, if you're a subscriber you can play all the streamable ones I've listed from my Halloween tag-station here: http://www.last.fm/listen/usertags/mooglefan/halloween

Here's the list of Halloween tracks, LAST EDITED: 10/31/2008

29 Mar 2008, 03:18 by bolanchildI'm gradded, and feeling nostalgic, so I've decided to compile a soundtrack to the music of my high school years. (Some of which were terrible, lest I forget!) So now I embark on some self-centered, indulgent sentimentality.
I started off the year still obsessed with grunge music, and a HUGE obsession with the Bauhaus and their angular lead singer, the Murphster. By the end of the school year I had fallen in love with Morrissey, who drew me into veganism, celibacy, etc. ;) My new found interest in the Mozzer was so overwhelming, that for the first time in my life David Bowie was pushed aside and completely forgotten about! :O (David Bowie's Station to Station was like my life for a while that year, too.)
Cuts You Up Peter Murphy
Wicked Game H.I.M.
Jennifer's Body Hole
Helden David Bowie
Dark Entries Bauhaus
Adia Sarah Maclaclan
Blue Monday New Order
Word on a Wing David Bowie
Mandinka Sinead O'Connor
Float On Modest Mouse
Yassassin David Bowie
2 Mar 2008, 20:08 by Krestfallen18I'm going to list a few albums I think have either effected me or my taste in music drastically. It's surprising me that after going through the list, most of these albums aren't the most popular by the artists. With that said, exceptions will be made.
In alphabetical order by artist
Animal Collective - Feels
Feels is the kind of album that freaked me out the first time I listened to. It's probably the first album I listened to that wasn't considered Indie Pop, which is all I listened to. It prepared me for an entire style of music I would fall in love with in the future.
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
You honestly have never heard amazing songwriting until you've heard Highway 61. Every song is like a novel packed into however many minutes. Don't even get me started on Desolation Row, definitely one of the all-time best songs.
Iggy Pop - The Idiot
It may not be as intense as any of Pop's other albums, but I knew I was in love with it as soon as I heard Sister Midnight, and by Funtime, I was totally convinced
